Job Description
CMG Networks is seeking an experienced, insightful and hands-on engineering project management professional to join our Bedminster, NJ headquarters team to help manage our growing government contracts portfolio. The ideal candidate has experience with the Department of Defense or Department of Homeland Security. This position will report to the Director of Program Management and will support with planning, organizing and execution of a diverse $3B research and development project portfolio in aviation, energy, environmental technology, communications, information technology and cybersecurity domains.
The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for providing oversight of assigned projects to ensure that cost, schedule and performance targets are met, and that technical and programmatic risks are managed effectively. The Engineering Project Manager will work closely with Government customers, CMG Networks’ contracts administration team and consortium member companies and institutions to ensure that efforts are fully synchronized and integrated with Government stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Assist Government customers with defining project requirements, leveraging available resources and developing program plans.
- Support the project solicitation and award processes, including facilitating collaboration between the Government and consortium members to establish the scope, schedule and cost for each project.
- Oversee the execution of awarded projects, including managing deliverables, invoicing and payment.
- Assist the Government with technology transfer planning and the award of follow-on production Other Transaction Agreements and/or contracts.
- Assist with identification and recruitment of new consortium members that have technical capabilities to meet the critical national security needs of the Department of Defense.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to increase industry awareness of upcoming project opportunities.
- Prepare programmatic, technical and financial reports for the Director, as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in the planning, execution and oversight of either Department of Defense or Department of Homeland Security research and development programs and projects is preferred.
- Contracting Knowledge: A minimum of five (5) or more years of experience in managing Federal Government contracts, Cooperative Agreements or Other Transaction Agreements.
- Software Skills: Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to adapt and learn other platforms.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends and make insightful recommendations to the senior management team.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve project management issues.
- Communications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Demonstrated ability to convey detailed project information clearly and concisely.
- Attention to Detail: Thorough and efficient, with the ability to focus on both small and significant aspects of a given task or project to ensure accuracy and that all relevant elements are considered and addressed.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet compressed deadlines.
- Teamwork: Motivated self-starter able to work both independently and on a team.
- Security Clearance: An active Top Secret Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance, is required.
